@jgpittenger Hi Jane - my little "point and shoot" Canon doesn't allow you to control many settings - it automatically determines shutter speed and focal distances and apertures. But it does allow you to choose a +/- exposure bias which then overrides the auto reading. It's the only way (other than using "fireworks" or "night" settings) that I can make it do longer exposures. So I've been fiddling around with it to figure out what I can make it do -even if it needs lots of editing afterwards!!! I just keep reminding myself that I need a camera which will fit in my pocket! Thanks for taking the time to comment! Much appreciated. Cheers Rob
Good experimenting...I have a similar lamp...I could try this...and I've heard it called exposure compensation so now I'll know what exposure bias is also and we can both camera "literate" as it were lol.
@granagringa This lamp is my daughters-it is great fun - all those good angles it does. This didn't use the ceiling at all -that would add another dimension. Camera literate - what a great expression!! - it's like a whole new language - with its own little euphemisms (eg post production!!) So there's a real chance that "exposure bias" might not be a real camera term- i might have imagined it! Or made it up to explain to me what i was doing!! LOL The idea of two cameras is very tempting - but it would mean even more time playing around to learn.... Cheers for now
