DOF in context #3

Crazy wattle blooming in winter..
The 52 week challenge required us to compose a shot which used DOF to place a focused article in context with its surroundings - rather than isolate it from it's surroundings. I found this quite a tricky task.
Lovely light hitting the wattle, brings out the yellow beautifully, now I know why I have hay fever, the wattles are starting to bloom. Very early

If I recall correctly there's some wattle/s blooming in every month of the year Rob. As for winter the Cootamundras (acacia baileyana I think) alway bloom in July, our weeping one is about the burst into full blossom.

Many wattles are winter flowering - this ensures food year round for the birds and insects that rely on them :)

Hi Sharon, Marnie and KoalaGardens - it was interesting to read your comments re wattles blooming all year round. And after you said that I could think of a range of them that appear in our area at different times - some of them are just a lot showier than others. And so many shades of yellow!! And so much hayfever!! :)
