One of the scariest photo - I walk Zoe here each day - that is a huge wild boar!
Yes they can be extremely agressive. They were around my parents house when I was young

I wouldn’t like to meet him on a walk!

Wow, that is a big boar. No wonder the deer don't hang around.

He is nasty looking!
Do you have a wild pig problem in your area?

@corinnec Hi Corinne - I'm quite worried after seeing this photo - they can be so aggressive and very dangerous. We're goring to try to trap them - hopefully we catch this one in particular. :)

@farmreporter Hi Wendy - we've often seen signs of pigs on our property - and seen females with babies but I've never encountered a boar like this - thank goodness. We're going to try to trap it. :)

@carole_sandford Hi Carole - he would be terrifying! We're going to try to trap him....

@rickster549 Hi Rick. You could see the deer all watching the pigs to check where they were. Then, on one of the short videos, we saw why. He suddenly charged at them - he'd bring one down if he caught it!

@koalagardens Hi Katrina - he was scary to even see on the video. And very scary to think that he's been around down there when I walked Zoe. We saw the mother and 2 babies several times but not him. They just ran away when I yelled at them - but I don't think he would do that! We're going to try to trap him.....

@robz good luck trapping - do the LLS help you with this? I sure would not want to come across him!

@koalagardens Hi Katrina - is the LLS like the Land for Wildlife program? We're Land for Wildlife members on both the Gold Coast and at Stanthorpe. The Gold Coast chapter is very supportive and offers all sorts of help. Unfortunately, the Stanthrope chapter has been virtually closed down - under the guise of being incorporated into the new South East Qld Landholder Program ( or something sounding like that!) . This is very firmly focussed on agricultural projects only. It's very disappointing.
Luckily, Stanthorpe is a wonderful country community and it's often possible to get advice and help from like minded locals. That's how were offered the loan of a pig trap. I sure hope it works! Cheers Rob

Ah I wasn't sure which side of the border you are on - they are the Local Land Services - a gov dept (state) that delivers services to farmers and rural landholders.
I sure hope this works too - can't wait to see the tale unfold
