I was on a walk along the Sliema promenade when I saw this group of kayakers. I immediately remembered that JP (Jean-Pierre – my son) and Ian (my son-in-law) had to go kayaking this day so I was looking out for them among the group. Later I was telling Ian about it and that a bit behind the rest there was one of the kayakers (not in the picture) who must have been in trouble because I saw others who had turned back to give help. Ian said that these were the beginners who had been taken out for a paddle. JP, Ian and other old-timers had gone much further out and afar. The sea around Malta is fantastic for kayaking – I cannot say the same about the summer sun. I’m off for my first swim of the summer now. Hope I’ll make it back haha.
