I wanted to post another shot or two that I took while going across Madliena the day before yesterday, especially since yesterday morning it was raining again. Notwithstanding, I went out with camera in hand and my umbrella just in case. In the meantime the rain stopped and a beautiful sun came out.
I met my brother, Joe, as usual and we were walking along the promenade when we felt a few drops of rain on our head; in a jiffy we were in a heavy shower. Without realising I had my umbrella with me I raced (the way a 70 year old races) across the street for shelter while my brother opened his umbrella and took refuge under the canopy of an open air restaurant. I got wet by the time I crossed the road but was then better placed to take shots of him from the opposite side of the road trying hard to stay dry. When I got home a few km uproad, I found the streets and my yard completely dry – the shower was localised to Sliema.
Joke: Sarah goes over to visit one of her friends. While she is at her friend’s house it starts to rain, so her friend suggests she spend the night at her house and go home the next day. Sarah agrees that makes sense and goes to the living room to watch TV while her friend goes upstairs to put the kids to bed. When her host comes downstairs, she finds Sarah coming in the front door, soaking wet. She asks, ‘Where have you been?’ ‘I went home to get my pyjamas!’
Thank you very much for looking and for your lovely comments on yesterday’s picture.
Another very atmospheric capture - the parasols and the Wall's ice cream logo look very forlorn and really bring out the dismal feel of the unremitting rain.
Great view to show you rain. We get use to it as we have many day`s rain over the year. Our water tease us from three sides, from the sea side, at our back by the rivers and from above.
