Friday, March 6, we left home in the afternoon for a week-end break in Gozo with my brother, his wife, my sister and her husband. We stayed at my sister’s place in Xgħara. The weather forecast didn’t augur well for those days and Friday proved it right although it did not rain as predicted. It was freezing cold when we went out in the evening.
I took this shot from my sister’s residence across the valley. The sun had gone down but there was still some light on the clouds. The village on the other side of the valley is Nadur.
Joke: Although he was a qualified meteorologist, Hopkins ran up a terrible record of forecasting for the TV news program. He became something of a local joke when a newspaper began keeping a record of his predictions and showed that he'd been wrong almost three hundred times in a single year. That kind of notoriety was enough to get him fired. He moved to another part of the country and applied for a similar job. One blank on the job application called for the reason for leaving his previous position. Hopkins wrote, "The climate didn't agree with me."
Thank you so much for your wonderful comments and the fav's on my 'Maltese Clock' picture of yesterday. They are very much appreciated and encouraging, too.
It all sounds quite exotic with this names and knowing that you were having a wonderful time with family makes this photo special! You were always looking out the window!
Great capture of the moody sky. I like how you caught some pretty pink colors in the clouds. I can't get over that it's so cold where you are. I would think your weather would be similar to ours this time of year.
Greetings. You have made a beautiful clock. Well done. I have a question: when I go on line and look at the images of Valleta, it shows streets, where the tall buildings crowd down unto narrow streets. Can you tell me some of the names of these streets? Thanks so much. Carole
