From the 4rd day of our Sicily holiday - 22st September, 2015.
Having ended our ‘excursion’ around Etna, and as agreed with Fabio we went to the ‘Gole di Alcantara’ (Alcantara Gorge), a place worth visiting. Amazing to see was the rock formation, as if someone had built a wall of large bricks. I would love to see this in Winter when the river is carrying all the rain water.
Joke: Pietro and Marco stumbled into each other while visiting the Gole di Alcantara. Pietro lived in Catania while Marco lived an hour’s drive away at Acitrezza. They had not seen each other in many years. Now they had a long talk trying to fill in the gap of those years by telling about their lives. Finally Pietro invited Marco to visit him in his new apartment. "I got a wife and three kids now and I'd love to have you visit us."
"Great. Where do you live?"
"Here's the address. And there's plenty of parking behind the apartment. Park and come around to the front door, kick it open with your foot, go to the elevator and press the button with your left elbow, then enter! When you reach the sixth floor, go down the hall until you see my name on the door. Then press the doorbell with your right elbow and I'll let you in."
"Good. But tell me...what is all this business of kicking the front door open, then pressing elevator buttons with my right, then my left elbow?"
"Surely, you're not coming empty-handed!"
Many thanks for looking and for all the lovely comments, the fav's and for putting my shot of yesterday on tp and pp. Very much appreciated.
I love the low pov you've used and the lead in lines of the water and the subtler one of the change in the texture of the shore reallly draw your eye into the shot. More views of that wonderful rock formation too!
A beautiful spot Dione the sound of the waterfall would be great. Is there a waterhole to swim in?
