This was at least 2 inches long when I saw it clinging to the wall of the garden. I had never seen one like it and at first I thought it was a big cockroach but when I got close to it I realised it wasn’t. While we were on the beach, a friend of mine suggested it could be a weavel and then I remembered that the red weavels which have killed many of our palm trees have not been erradicated. So as soon as I got home I went searching for it with the intention of killing it but it was no longer there.
Euro 2016 will be remembered for the many surprises. And the last, and probably the biggest was in yesterday’s final. Portugal, who nobody would have bet a penny on, beat France in the final to win the coveted cup. He who laughs last laughs best.
