I asked you yesterday to note the greenish balcony-like part of the tower of the New Town Hall. Well that is the best-known work of artistic engineering of its kind in the world. It attracts hundreds, usually thousands of people to witness it personally on a daily basis. At 11 a.m., noon and, except in the winter at 17 o'clock each day the figures perform the Schäfferltanz or Cooper's dance, which was originally performed in 1517 at the Marienplatz to commemorate the end of the plague.
The netting is there to keep the birds from damaging or dirtying the clock.
We arrived there after noon and left before 5.00pm and so we missed the performance - one of the drawbacks when you travel in a group.
Thank you so much for looking and for the comments and fav's on yesterday's picture.
It looks beautiful Dione.
Now you have a reason to visit again, this time without a group
