Sunday before last was the feast of the parish of Stella Maris (Our Lady Star of the Sea) a parish where I lived during my youth. My father (rip) was a great lover of this feast and he would not miss it for anything or anyone. When my mum died 8 years before he did, us children gradually gave up attending to watch but as from last year my sister convinced my eldest brother and me to go watch the fireworks.
I took this shot as we passed by the square right infront of the imposing band club of the parish. Here much of the outdoor activity related to the ‘festa’ takes place – all the band marches that go around the streets of the parish start from here and a solemn band concert is given on a band stand erected for the purpose. Many tables and chairs were scattered around for those who wished to enjoy a cool drink or a snack. At the time we passed it was almost void of people as everybody was down at the ‘Ferries’ ready to watch the fireworks show.
Thank you very much for looking and for your comments and fav's on yesterday's picture.
