This beautiful village square has been given a face lift which I do not like. On the side in front of the camera is the restaurant/bar/coffee shop I mentioned yesterday with the name ‘Rabokk’. We have become great friends with the owner and make it a point to go visit him when we are in Gozo. He has been a staunch supporter of Stoke City Football Club for over 50 years and considers his place as the club’s supporters’ club. We became good friends after I mentioned that I have been to Stoke many times. He migrated to Canada years and years ago but returned to Gozo and the village he loved after some years and opened this restaurant.
Many thanks for all your views, comments and favs. Always much appreciated.
@onewing,@Casablanca The red telephone box is there to commemorate British rule in Malta which ended in 1964. There are a few around the Maltese Islands as historical pieces. As for the square: almost all the area has been paved allowing little room for cars to pass through the now narrow street left for vehicles and apart from that it has been left as a big empty space without any embellishment.
Interesting photo and info re Malta - makes me want to learn more. The square does look a bit bare - as if it needs to be lived in. Makes a good photo though. Cheers
( The field I`ve captured was one of several. )
