Another merge of two shots to show this magnificent building. The two shots are merged vertically to capture the huge dome for which the church is reknown.
It is said that the Mosta Rotunda has the third largest unsupported dome in the world. The church narrowly avoided destruction during World War II, since on 9 April 1942 during a German air raid a bomb pierced the dome and fell into the church during Mass but failed to explode. This event was interpreted by the Maltese as a miracle.
