Last Sunday I went to Casal Millieri to see this chapel which was open for visitors. I had some difficulty finding the place which is in the middle of agricultural land. The village which was first documented in 1419 does no longer exist but the chapel which was consecrated in around 1480 is still standing. It is a typical example of a Maltese medieval church and the only one in Malta that has retained its full features.
In this collage the picture on the left is the entrance to a small wall-surrounded area where the chapel is. On the right is the chapel itself which is about 15 metres down a path surrounded with cypress and olive trees.
Thank you so much for looking and for the comments on yesterday’s picture.
What an interesting day you must of had, this is a lovely Chappel.
It's amazing how something so old is still standing & is so well built.
Sounds like a great outing.
