Back to our Seville holiday album for a final three shots to end the series. This is the third and last. I hope you enjoyed going through my album of photos with me. Took this shot from the Triana District across the Guadalquivir River.
The Golden Tower was constructed in 1220–1221by the Almohad Caliphate in order to control access to Seville via the Guadalquivir river. Its name comes from the golden shine it projected on the river, due to its building materials (a mixture of mortar, lime and pressed hay). . It served as a prison during the Middle Ages and today is a maritime museum. The tower is is one of the symbols of Seville.
Many thanks for your views and comments on yesterday's picture.
