Saturday before yesterday we went to the Malta Conference Centre Theatre to watch the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra and Kormalta Choir give a rendition of The Armed Man – A Mass for Peace. What a fantastic show of music it was! The picture to the left is the cover of the hand-out brochure which I picked as we went in and which I kept for reference. Bottom right is a view of the empty theatre as we were among the first to go in – the ‘Logo’of the evening is projected on each side of the stage followed by scenes of war and peace to go with the music. Top right are the orchestra and choir waiting for Maestro Laus to take his place on his stand. I did not take my camera with me to the theatre so the two right photos were taken with my mob which doesn’t perform well.
The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace was composed by Karl Jenkens in 1999 and premiered in 2000 by the London Philharmonic Orchestra. Jenkens comes from Wales. If you are interested in hearing this beautiful piece of work you can download it from Utube.
Thank you very much for looking and for the comments and fav’s on yesterday’s picture.
