Shot taken on Maundy Thursday.
Christine and I follow an old tradition, that of visiting seven Altars of Repose on Maundy Thursday, or Good Friday. Our personal way of doing this is to go round by car to different parts of Malta to see how different churches decorate their altars with flowers and other decorations, like angels, candles ect. saying a short prayer before moving on to another church. Many of these Altars of Repose are a work of art and very beautifully decorated. After a long absence because of covid, this year we decided to pick up from where we had left. This year I wanted to start by visiting the parish of the village of Siġġiewi. Why that? Because they make a fabulous candle light show in front of the church. My previous attempt failed because I arrived too late. This year people flocked in thousands to see this. I went round and round to find a parking and in the end parked in front of a garage, left Christine in the car while I went to take a look and take two or three pictures and returned to the car to let Christine go and have a look. The area in front of the church was in complete darkness so that the display could be better appreciated. However, I was very frustrated by the time we left Siġġiewi
This is a merge of 2 shots that I took from a crowded one storey high structure erected for the occasion.
Thank you very much for all your views, for your comments and for all the fav's.
