Mum, her friend Sheila and I went for a wee drive to Shandwick beach. It's a lovely long beach for a walk but it's also a pleasure for anyone who just needs to sit in the car and watch others enjoy it, as there is a lovely parking area where you see everything that's going on!
Remember it well. Did you ever explore the beach to the left of Balintore (past the old ruin I am sure), there is 1 wee bit that gives off purple sand. Just there, nowhere else. We did collect some years ago when my sister lived there still at Hylton.
My nephew told us, and despite being a bit skeptical, ( i thought he had coloured the sand in his jar himself to trick us,.. lol) we went down, and sure enough, there it was.
It looks like a peaceful place. I used to take my Mum to the North East coast at South Sheilds frequently. She loved to watch the sea form the car when she was too frail to get out and walk.

Thanks to you both - the colours were quite intense yesterday but I think the collage (used ipiccy collage options and mirror frame) colours I chose 'enhance' it quite well...........like they do in holiday brochures I think!!
Thanks to you all! Have to say it was quite chilly but so good to get a dose of sea air!
