I love that verse from Leonard Cohen's song:
Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in.
It certainly applies in my garden, I love it and have really enjoyed all the hard work of the last week. But I know how much there still is to do! A bit like me....God isn't finished with me yet.
And these pots have lots of cracks and stories could be told about where I bought them and when and lots more. Some of them have serious cracks. Some have no bottoms!!! Frost damage!!!
But I stick a plastic pot inside and no one notices!
Now I will enjoy and watch and hope things grow.
And I'll let you see them again if they make a good show when the sun comes back!
Fabulous pots & another lovely collage, we can see all your different types here ! I am impressed with the one with the holes in in the top left photo ! I don't think I recognise that song but true words !
@peacerebel Thanks Charlene - it's all done in ipiccy most of the time just now and I just seem to find the right colour for the mirror frames and click! @lornareid - Thanks Lorna you're very welcome! Come and have a cuppa any time! @happypat Thanks Pat - I think I had that one in the back of the car one time we called at your place on the way home from Yorkshire. I got it in a second hand shop there in 2005 I think. I used it with teachers as a 'Character Pot' where you kept pictures of all the characters in the different stories you read to /with the children (laminated them and put them on plant support sticks (green ones) which fitted into the holes. It was really impressive! But sadly was left out on patio last winter and is now one of the bottomless ones!
But have put a little pot with some sweet peas in it as an experiment and can maybe use the holes for some support structures to sit in later! Watch the space..........or the cracks!!! @louisefrance Thanks Louise! I think I should have had a competition to see who could detect which were cracked and which were not!!!
Thanks for your comments. Gathered them over 19 years since we moved to this house and lovely on the patio where I can see them from our family space whatever the weather!
I love all your unique pots! I'm trying to get a good balance of interesting pots since I don't have a garden. I also love your analogy. It's as beautiful as the pictures it goes with!
