reward for all the work

Allan's certificate for his degree studies in Gaelic arrived in the post. It is all written in Gaelic but says he is awarded a Bachelor of Arts in Gaelic Language and Culture from the University of the Highlands and Islands. All the lectures and seminars he had to attend, over almost seven years, were at Sabhal Mòr Ostaig on the Isle of Skye and all of it done in Gaelic. He loved going over to Skye regularly and also had regular weekly group phone calls in Gaelic.
It's one thing to study for a degree when you are young but doing it when you are older and also in full-time employment is a real achievement and we are both delighted with this award! It was never a chore and he loved all the learning about our shared Gaelic culture.....I only have a few phrases that I can use while he is able to read in English and write about it in Gaelic!!!
Three good things
1. When all the effort is worthwhile!
2. Love that he is the kind of person who doesn't give up, even though it was challenging at times.
3. So delighted to have reached this point and if he chooses to he can go on to complete the Honours degree at a later date!
Well done to you Allan.
