Fresh Baked by sarahsthreads

Fresh Baked

I don't often make homemade bread, because we'd all be even more in need of a gym membership than we already are. Also, it takes time away from more important things like my 365 project. But it was super cold today and I thought I'd make a pot of lentil soup for dinner, and then before I even realized what I was doing, I had a packet of yeast out and was proofing it. A bowl of lentil soup (really, stew by the time it was done cooking) with crazy sharp cheddar cheese and crusty bread on the side? Best winter dinner ever!

I took this photo while it was still warm...
Yum!! There's nothing better than fresh baked bread!

Sarah stop making me hungry, I love making bread and your soup and fresh bread dinner tonight sounds wonderful. I enjoy kneading and baking bread, and LOVE the smell and taste of a freshly baked loaf.

@aglennc Sorry! Interestingly, my recipe does not call for kneading. More like folding and tucking. It's a "rustic" Italian bread. :)

@amandal Oh, totally. My family of five got through more than half last night and the rest turned into toast this morning. This is why I don't make it often!
