Snowflakes, a Second Attempt by sarahsthreads

Snowflakes, a Second Attempt

This time I used a longer lens along with the macro filters, and went outside in daylight instead of trying to take the photos at night under a bright outdoor light.

Any suggestions? This was handheld because I was manually focusing and moving the camera around to try to spot single snowflakes. I'm not sure how you do that on a tripod?
It's beautiful Sarah! Even tho people would suggest using a tripod for these kinds of shots, I never do!
My only suggestion would be to fill the frame if you can. I know sometimes lenses are limiting in how close you can get:) fav!

@annachristina Thanks! I used a 40mm lens, with a whack of macro filters stacked on top. I'm trying to figure out if extension tubes would work better?

@kwind Thanks! Sometimes I feel like we get too much snow to do this. But today it was falling gently and with very little wind, so it worked pretty well!
