Trillium

My wife and I were returning home this morning when she noticed that the trillium had opened. So I pulled off and grabbed some shots of these beauties!
Trillium is one of many plants whose seeds are spread by ants.

Thank you for your very kind comments and favs! These were growing in a lightly wooded area right off the road. One patch covered a pretty big area. I know these grow wild so I know nothing about growing them in a garden.

Beautiful...love the close up. I think Trilliums are my all time favourite flower and I don't get to see them out here in Alberta! I didn't know about the ants either, just knew we couldn't pick them as they take so long to go from seed to flower. Fav
