Gemini

I tried my hand at getting a more in focus picture of the Honeysuckle. This looks like it might be a great year for it. It is so abundant and aromatic.
Wonderful! Great focus on the flower, I have tried photographing honeysuckle and find it incredibly difficult because the flower is on so many different planes but you have it sharp throughout.

This definitely looks sharp! Lots of detail, really well done. It almost looks like its glowing!

You did beautifully. I love honeysuckle. I haven't seen much of it around here but I'm sure it's around.

@judithdeacon - Thank you Judith! I know what you mean. This was my third attempt. I lost count of how many pictures I took in those three attempts.

@kkolstad - Thank you so much Kristen! I learned something new about my camera that I hope helps me to get sharper photos. I turn my live view on and then push a button that allows me to zoom in either 5x or 10x and then I focus manually. Its not 100%, but it is better then relying on the auto focus trying to focus on the tiny stamens.

@kerristephens - Thank you Kerri!

@karenmatthews - Thank you Karen!

@mittens - Thank you very much Marilyn! I'd like to try and transplant some closer to the house. My Amish neighbors used to have a trellis on the one side of their porch and they had honeysuckle growing all over it. I see it is gone now. I don't know if something happened to it and it died or if they got tired of it and tore it out.

@mtpagano - Thank you Michelle!

@danette - Thank you Danette! As I explained to Kristen, I have learned another way to manually focus my camera in live view. It was also still today so I wasn't fighting the wind either.

@mandyj92 - Thank you Mandy!

Sounds like a great way to focus. I have such poor vision. Today I had an awful time with auto focus until I saw the lens was fogged.
June 13th, 2013
@danette - Auto focus is great, but there are times, especially when I am using my extension tubes where it can be an annoyance!
June 13th, 2013
They do smell so good! I love the way you shot this.
June 13th, 2013
@nana2r - Thank you very much Carren! I love the smell of honeysuckle second to only lilacs!
