I spotted this female protecting her home, at the park from a Redwing Blackbird that got a little too close. This fence post is one of her favorite places to surveil.
@maggiemae - A Boy Scout Troop was given permission to put in three small bird houses, one Purple Martin house, a forty foot section of split rail fence, a variety of tree saplings and some wildflowers that haven't appeared yet in what has been designed a wetlands. This small has claimed one of those houses. I have seen some bluebirds in the vicinity but I am not sure if they have claimed any of the houses. The houses were placed last year.
