Former Sears Store

Our area was hit by a number of store closings just before COVID hit. A number of large retailers shuttered up their brick-and-mortar stores because of lagging sales. It's hard to believe that one of the largest stores throughout my lifetime no longer exists in my area. Also closed were, K-Mart, and Macy's. Our once busy mall now houses only 9 stores.

Lots of changes here too. Big upheaval for businesses. Still wonder if lockdowns were ever the right thing.

@casablanca - That is an answer that we may never know. But, never in the history of pandemics have the healthy been made to quarantine or lockdown.

This is the retail story in much of the western world. Especially of the large department stores. It’s very sad to see.
