Not Clowning Around

I grew up in a time when clowns would make people laugh. There is a long list of famous clowns over the years. A few of them are;

Joseph Grimaldi created the character “Joey,” who reportedly was the first clown to wear whiteface makeup and paint on large smiling red lips.

Grock known as the “king of clowns”

Oleg Popov In 1956 he became head clown and went on to become one of the most beloved clowns in the Soviet Union.

Emmett Kelly created Weary Willie, a down-and-out hobo who wore tattered clothes.

I just don't get clowns. I don't find them very creepy but I also don't find them very humorous or funny. Maybe the ones I've seen just haven't been very good clowns.
