Ooops, too late. Yes another one. Went to the grocery store to pick up what we need to carry us through another week and was overwhelmed with patterns and colors. As I explored the store I realized why Andreas Gursky shot down for his images. Because you have to get high to see beyond the shelves in front of you.
@julzmaioro - That depends on where you live. Some states and municipalities have recycling. Depending on the level they take some or most plastics, paper, aluminum and steel cans and cardboard.
And to think this is just one store out of how many?
Okay, you've totally inspired me to take my camera to the grocery store. Although one of the ones that I like the best (Mariano's) has quite nastily told me I cannot photograph there! Whole Foods has let me in the past. Strange that planning a grocery shot is harder than any other one to do!
@skipt07 I think it's some bizarre sense of not wanting competition to know what they are doing which is crazy as anyone can come in and look for themselves or take videos with their iPhones! I was really annoyed with them and boycotted them for a bit. But then...convenience won out.
@taffy@skipt07 I took pictures in Walmart of the kids colored sock display and a clerk stood over me and made me delete them. I asked why and she said the merchandise belongs to them and its not for photographing. WHATEVER!
@lynnz - 🤔 Maybe they have some kind of policy for whatever reason? But I have taken photos of merchandise before to get another person's opinion. I usually use my cell phone to gain a wider angle and it doesn't stand out like a dslr. The first one I took of the threads was at a Jo-Ann's Fabrics and nobody said anything to me. But they were pretty busy at the time.
Great shot. I'm intrigued now to see if it's the same in our supermarkets, I've never noticed. I'll be going with my camera next week (and probably getting thrown out!)
I haven't had too much trouble taking photos in my supermarket but I've only been using my point and shoot and I do it pretty quickly with no one else around. I'm sure the security people can see me but so far no one has come to tell me to put the camera away.
@lynnz IF you want them back, there are recovery programs you can get to pull up deleted photos from your card. But sometimes it's not worth the trouble.
@olivetreeann Thanks, Ann, it really didn't matter about the pictures. I just didn't like her telling me I had to delete them. I was using a small point and shoot too, but she saw me take them.
@skipt07 I have taken cell phone pictures of items that my girls were looking for and asked if I had the correct thing. I haven't taken pictures of food or grocery displays. I really never thought to take pictures there. My hubby would probably reject that idea. LOL! Nice colorful display. You should have organized the ones that are out of place. :) LOL!
