This gives a whole new meaning to hanging out with the girls. All of these girls are hanging by their hair except for the girl hanging upside-down in the center with her arms hanging down. She is suspending the girl on the very bottom by her hair!
[A few weeks after I took this shot, this company of performers were performing in Connecticut where this apparatus failed and some of the girls were severely injured. Shortly after Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey announced that "The Greatest Show on Earth" was closing for good]
