There are no motorized vehicles allowed on the island. All transportation is horse-drawn in some form and bicycles. Even UPS and FedEx make their deliveries by horse-drawn wagons. [Two exceptions: an ambulance and a police car in emergencies.]
The Grand Hotel's carriages, of course, are the Cadillacs of the island with uniformed drivers and ornate horse comparisons. This is the bridal carriage.
