As the circus progressed, a number of black orbs were wheeled out on the floor. Circus personnel attached the orbs to chains and were lifted above the arena when attached ropes were tugged on to remove the black covering allowing the audience to see each ball contained these aerialist. After a short time the balls were lowered to the floor and the balls were removed and the performers were once again raised above the floor to perform their acts.
