Young Sparrow

I was watching our feeder and saw this sparrow flitting its wings continually. At first it thought it was a male or female wanting to mate. We could hear it chirping almost nonstop. It wasn't until after I took this picture and saw its mouth did I realize that it is a fledgling. We were both surprised that it was this developed this early.
Nicely done. And, wow! what a long lens.

@lynne5477 - The lens is a 150 - 600mm but I have a 2x extender. Plus I have a crop camera with a 1.6 crop factor which makes a 1200 into a 1920 mm.

what is fledging?

@desraemelville - A fledgling is a young immature bird.

@danette - Yes, but it isn't easy! For this shot I was shooting out the window and the camera was resting on the back of one of our dining room chair backs. I hang a coat over the back of the chair to help hide me and keep me from damaging the finish!
