I know some folks aren't fans of HDR photography that looks too much like HDR. I, however, am not as picky so I'm quite pleased with how this turned out. It helps that I had such a pretty model to work with.
Have I mentioned how much I love my little car? I like to pretend I'm in The Italian Job when I find myself in traffic next to another Mini. *vroom vroom*
this is fantastic. i am obsessed with this and need to try it...but i have photoshop and heard it is not the best for HDR. you did a great job..and your car is adorable...do you love it?
@robinwarner Thank you. I really love this one. If I could add one of my own photos to my favorites this would be there. I actually did use Photoshop because I'm just now getting the hang of that so I'm reluctant to branch out and learn something new. I've heard the same thing about it, though, so I'm sure I'll bite the bullet one of these days. It did make a world of difference that I noticed there are pre-set options other than "custom" when editing the HDR photo (if you give it a try you'll see what I mean) and by picking one of those I was able to get a much more interesting photo. I also kicked the picture over to Picnik and added a little Orton-ish effect, which really amped up the darkness of the clouds. I hope you give it a try soon. It's very satisfying when you get it right!
the strangest thing happened today. i was driving down multnomah blvd in portland, oregon this morning and passed a mini identical to this...with jersey plates (my home state). i thought that might have been my small-worldiest small world moment yet. sadly, i never commented on this shot when i first saw it some months back, but it obviously left an impression on me. beautiful!
@angelwilliam Glad someone appreciates my weirdness.
@sparkle Thanks! I had the same egotistical thought myself!
Definitely an "italian job" vibe about it! very slick ;-)
