Vegetable Garden Phase 2 by susiemc

Vegetable Garden Phase 2

I now have two more raised beds, each twice the size of the one at the far end (see https://365project.org/susiemc/album-1-year-5/2020-06-25 ). Each one of these is 6ft x 3ft. We had some topsoil delivered this morning which my wonderful husband is transferring to the beds. It looks like hard work. He has to first of all shovel the soil into the wheelbarrow then push the wheelbarrow down a slope and then down this narrow path before he shovels it into the bed. He has to do this many times. I hope I manage to grow some tasty veg for him to eat.
Great looking beds! Your husband is awesome to do that!

Looking good, we did exactly the same last year and I feel for your husband, back breaking work filling them and ours were the same size but only two planks deep!

@judithdeacon Thanks Judith. I think Chris was probably wishing we’d gone for the ones that were two planks deep 😂. As I’m writing this he’s just finished and says he’s desperately in need of a beer 😂😂.

@happysnaps Thanks Valerie. I bought seeds quite a while ago and I can’t wait to plant them.

What a good idea in spite of the hard work for Chris at the moment - you will have to grow him some spinch to keep his strength up !

Hard work for sure. I look forward to seeing some 'fall bounty' pictures from you in a few months.

Love it. I start mine in September . ( too hot right now)
Curious to see what you are going to grow .

Keeping him out of mischief! I’m sure it will all be worth the hard work!

He'll need spinach for his muscles like Popeye ;-)

My hubby is not a gardener. He does anything in the garden under protest, and often needs supervision, so I always seem to end up having to help with things like shovelling and wheelbarrowing.
