Bonners Landing on the Move by taffy

Bonners Landing on the Move

My get-pushed challenge this week was ICM (intentional camera movement). I am getting my second entry in under the wire. This one was done with a 24-85 zoom, zooming very very quickly. I had to set the ISO to very low, stop down the aperture as far as I could, and still couldn't leave the lens open for much.
This is Bonners Landing, looking north toward McCauley's Point.

And thank you all so much for your wonderful comments about Ready-Set-Go frog photo! It had a very short life on PP thanks to you! I've enjoyed your photos but because of having to process all the photos from the garden tour, I'm barely keeping up with comments, so won't be able to do individual thanks today.
This looks like it has worked really well. Great shot

@carolinedreams My second entry for get-pushed...hoping you like it, Caroline!

ooohhh awesome!!!! Love it!

looks good Taffy, I haven't mastered this yet - but after finding out that zooming fast can encourage dirt onto the sensor I may not even try :(
July 15th, 2013
@ness50 I hadn't heard that! I've had my camera about 4 years now and can see the sensors are quite dirty when I do any kind of landscape. I'll have to be careful with the new camera body I just bought!

Spectacular!!!! well done

this is really cool

Love the zoom effect here, and the deep green of the trees is wonderful.

Ready Set Go is still on the PP. I've noticed that it doesn't show you your own pictures sometimes.

This turned out very cool looking. I like it.
July 15th, 2013
Wow Taffy! This has worked out really nicely! Well done!
July 15th, 2013
Very cool result! It works really well with this scene :)
July 15th, 2013
Brilliant result! Still lots of detail, yet there is a feel of movement.
July 15th, 2013
Wow - cool
July 15th, 2013
Very cool effect!!
July 15th, 2013
Wow, so cool. I love the feel of motion in the photo, like a time-warp effect. Great capture.
July 15th, 2013
Beautiful scene and fabulous effect! Great challenge shot!
July 15th, 2013
Wonderful effect--it has a lensbaby ambience--love it:)
July 15th, 2013
Great effect Taffy - I have been meaning to try this for ages. Fab results!!
July 15th, 2013
So disorienting!
July 15th, 2013
Very cool. Must try this!
July 15th, 2013
Love this effect! Superb!

Good idea I should try that one. Great shot!
July 15th, 2013
Nice effect!
July 15th, 2013
I like the colours but can't look for long as it makes me dizzy!

Hi Taffy,
Thanks for my challenge, wonderful project you have going on here. I have had a look through to make sure that I haven't picked a challenge that someone else has. I would like you to capture an object, person or animal in mid air. Have fun, can't wait to see what you come up with
July 15th, 2013
Very cool
July 16th, 2013
This is awesomely cool! I love how there is still a discernible scene here but also the great feeling of movement. Fun!
July 16th, 2013
It's rather pretty- a modern version of an Impressionist painting.
July 16th, 2013
Very nice! You are really learning some cool techniques!
July 16th, 2013
Awesome icm! Looks like its really windy. Beautifully done
July 16th, 2013
@wenbow What a great topic! I already have started working on it today with objects and animals (insects) as no human I'm in contact with would cooperate!
July 16th, 2013
@colie Thanks Colie, for your comments here and on several of my shots! I'm so glad you're enjoying the flare challenge.
July 16th, 2013
@jodimuli I think that's why I liked the ICM challenge. I've been loving your lensbaby shots.
July 16th, 2013
@danielwsc Thanks Daniel! So weird re the PP shot. If I keep shuffling it does eventually show up, and once it popped up large right away. But it's very inconsistent. Oh well...

Taffy I was reading your profile and I think it's very interesting. How is your dog doing? and what do you teach at the university?
July 16th, 2013
@anazad511 Thanks Ana -- that's a lovely thing to say! And thank you for asking about Nutmeg. We lost her a few weeks ago ( http://365project.org/taffy/365/2013-06-22) while you were still traveling. It's been very strange without her as she was such an incredibly large part of our lives, especially this past 15 months. At the university, I'm in the College of Education, in literacy and school reform. interesting work but getting tougher these days to be in education.
July 16th, 2013
@taffy Oh I'm sorry about Nutmeg, and I'm sure you miss miss her, but now she is resting of all the problems she had. I just read the beautiful tribute you wrote on June 22. Thanks for taking the time to write back.

Love the effect, it's like there would be something pulling it all in, like a black hole.
July 16th, 2013
Just the right amount of zooming blur - amazing result!
July 16th, 2013
Fab shot for your get pushed challenge :)
July 16th, 2013
Great shot! Love the blur!
July 16th, 2013
awesome zoom effect! beautiful scene too! love this!
July 17th, 2013
Terrific spot for the zoom md pray technique. Well executed
July 17th, 2013
@susale I like that thought -- almost like a vortex pulling us in. I'm going to think about this and try to do something to capture the idea of Beaver Island time that we talk about here. Time seems to stand still and then suddenly, it's gone. Hard to explain but ICM might do the trick!

@susale @lunaksi @willowdragon @pflaume @wind_of_the_sothern_sea @jgpittenger

Thank you all for your visit and comment on this one. I was so glad for the challenge as it got me looking at scenes in terms of the colors they would produce in a zoom.
