I never tire of our summer sunsets (and hope you don't mind yet another one). I liked the jet contrail in this one. Other than that, I know it's a quiet one compared to some of my other ones.
Thank you all so very very much for your wonderful comments and favs this past week. It led to two in the TT this week so I'm just (as @anazad said) walking on clouds. What a wonderfully supportive community. And what a special thing for my last week on Beaver Island :-( -- it means a lot to have these photos so well received.
Have a wonderful weekend!
I was so busy I did not realize! Two in the TT! Wow! That is great! Congrats. This sunset pic is so calming..just what the doctor ordered after the two weeks I've had.
Such a gorgeous sunset capture. wonderful tones in the sky and reflections on the water. Is this really your last week on Beaver Island?? It seems like you just arrived?!
@pflaume Thanks Lisa! I appreciate your comment on this one. Yes, sadly, it is our last week. I noticed today that a lot of my photos were fairly dark and sad. Mmmm.... It does feel like we just got here and I'm not at all ready for summer to end. We'll come back up at least two weekends this fall, maybe three, but it's not the same feeling. I'm madly trying to capture all the things I'd wanted to share about BI when it felt like I had all the time in the world!
Congrats for TT, well deserved! Stunning sunset and silhouettes, fav and unhappy face for last week on the island, I've loved your pics from the island but am sure you pics are fabulous regardless where you shoot them.
@orangecrush Thanks Jerry! This actually is a sunset that normally we would think of as 'just a sunset' -- it was a totally cloudless sky. But when I look at it through the eyes of 'making the familiar strange' I could see such beauty in the color and patterns. So interesting to see what we come to take for granted over the summer! In Chicago, I'd give anything to be able to see this!!
@susale You are so sweet to say this! I know I'll have to do a major shift from the island to urban settings. And from a relatively flexible schedule with available time to an overly stressful, no time situation. At this point, I don't know how I'm going to keep up!!
Its a beautiful sunset and I am pleased you have shraed it with us. I think it does reflect your sad feeling about leaving BI but what wonderful photographic memories you have taken this summer. I have loved seeing your work Taffy and learning about your lovely Island. Enjoy your last week. Fav of course!!
Congrats on TT, too - so well deserved.
Thank you so much for faving this sunset Joan, BDJ, Kareen, Dawn, Ana, Nicole, and Jan! I appreciate your kind comments!
