A little late in posting as my Aperture backup ended up taking most of the night. Taken yesterday morning, I'm standing on the ferry dock looking across the harbor towards Lighthouse Point, a protected area managed by the Central Michigan University Biological Station. Follow the pier and at the tip of the point you'll see the lighthouse and boathouse (shiny red roof) on the point.
Today's our last full day on Beaver Island for the summer, though we've decided to face the 6 hour drive and little flight a for a few long weekends this fall, starting with Labor Day weekend, so it isn't totally good-by to the island yet!
@olivetreeann You're so right! It's hard. We had stayed through tonite to go to friends' 50th anniversary party so it was a lovely end to the summer. It was an early evening event so we were home before sunset and spent about an hour photographing, walking the beach, and adding more stones on Nutmeg's grave, before coming in to finish up packing. A very lovely end to a special summer!
