Flying from Beaver Island to Charlevoix Michigan where we pick up our car and drive to Chicago, we go over the south end of the island, then across 33 miles of Lake Michigan. Mark, our pilot in the six-seater plane from Fresh Air, let me sit in the co-pilot seat again! This is our farewell view of the island for the season as we head over the lake. It was the prettiest day of the weekend (figures, since w were leaving) with the wind finally dying down and the sun appearing between fluffy white clouds. Lake Geneserath is the largest of the inland lakes on the island.
In my extras album is a photo from the ground level of Barney's Lake ( http://365project.org/taffy/the-also-ran-ph/2013-10-28). It really was a beautiful day!
Thank you for your views and kind comments on my fall shots from this weekend's trip to BI!
I'm a bit slammed at work and have to cut back for a few days on viewing and commenting, but am determined to keep up with posting. And I look forward to catching up toward the end of the week.
@sangwann Mark, the pilot, is a great guy and as long as weight is in balance, the airline is very open to letting people sit up front. My grandson got to do that on his birthday this summer and 'help fly' - he loved it.
@pamknowler Thanks Pam! I do love getting to sit copilot with my camera -- I can almost always get one shot worthwhile. Working to catch up but tonite am taking a break so I can comment. A relaxing way to end the day and I get to see such clever and beautiful sites.
@jyokota@kazlamont Flying co-pilot is really a great experience with a camera in the little plane. Given that Im' such a white-knuckle flier, it really helps me stay calm about flying.
