Nothing like spending a night on an airplane! We are home. Jim's been to the grocery store. Suitcases and stuff is everywhere. Went to bed as soon as we got home and didn't get up til 2:00 p.m. Uh-oh...jet lag ahead! Now that we are back in the real world, am concentrating on catch up in all aspects of life. So instead of my recent week and a half of many photots to choose from for the day, I have only one! Oh well...back to the real world!
Welcome home, Taffy! I have so enjoyed your travel photos. Looks like you and Jim had a fabulous stay in Hawaii. This is great, too! Love the lights and the wee bit of plane wing we see.
I am not sure if I like the sight of cities from a plane window at night in the old days when there were more different colors of light or the all orange from the sodium lights? They always made me think of a sparkly diamond necklace.
@steampowered Thanks Paul! It was an amazing trip and a photographer's dream. I've been several times because of my close friend and business partner (of over 35 years) who lives on Oahu, but I can see such a difference in my knowledge of photography as a result of this year. It changed the way I saw things while there.
@taffy That is wonderful Taffy and I am envious of your ability to just jet off there when you want to. I have seen your photography improve in leaps and bounds, from good to exceptional, over the year and I am so happy to see you feeling so exuberant about it.
@steampowered It really helps that most of the trips are business ones. For years, my partner came to Chicago as she traveled to the continent a lot for work. Now that she is cutting back on her travel, it's my turn to go there -- really not a bad deal!
@steampowered And thank you so much, more importantly, for the wonderful comment about my improved photography. It means a lot coming from you -- you are such a creative force on the site and I've learned a lot from your work and your ideas!
I like the way this suggests but is not so definite. The lights look lovely. Sounds like a fab trip. Shame about the jet lag but hopefully you will soon get back into a good routine.
It's something how sometimes you need a vacation from the vacation, especially when you get jet lag. haha. But glad you had an amazing time as your photos clearly show! Additionally love the way you caught the city lights and the airplane wing, signifying flying into home.
@leonbuys83 Where the lights end we were just crossing onto airport property and that area is totally wooded just before you cross onto the runways. At first I thought it was a shot I'd taken where we came upon Lake Michigan, but we are too low for that area to be the lake.
I must say, I enjoyed your trip! Glad you all are home safe!
