Taken on yesterday's puddle and moon walk, as I was returning to my house walking over the bridge that spans the highway. I've had light trails on my bucket list forever, but never have been happy with shots I've taken. This isn't what I was going for, but I like the feeling of speed -- the train swooshing by, the cars moving on the highway and on the service road above - a technique that I've learned can be referred to as 'motion blur.' At first I thought I'd just blurred everything, but if you view large, you can see that the L (subway) walkway up is in focus.
@swilde@kerristephens@moxy@joemuli Thanks Joey, Shelly, Kerri, and Sue! It actually needs to be viewed large, I realized after uploading. It's darker here than on my computer screen which I think makes it harder to see the stable forms. And it was rush hour, so cars weren't speeding as much as I'd hoped, rather moving in fits and starts which is why the trails suddenly stop! I appreciate your visit and comments!
You did a great job capturing motion while still being able to make out what your subjects are. I especially love blurry motion of the train! I remember having an entire assignment of capturing motion back when I was taking beginner photography classes. It really is a fun technique to use!
