I've been feeling quite blah about my photography this past week and not looking forward to the next polar vortex (high tomorrow may not be zero fahrenheit - ugh). So, I went to Museum Campus along Lake Michigan and spent a few hours mucking about along the lake, then driving down to Northerly Island, then back up to another area near this shot, but looking across to Chicago's skyline. With freezing temperatures ahead, I plan to use photos from the walk over the week. This was in the late afternoon, upped the saturation to get the color in the sky to come out more (it looked pretty gray SOOC). Looking southeast toward Gary, IN, across the lake. And it has its 6 word title!

Beautiful.....love the colors you ended up with....really warmed up that cold, stark night. This has been a rough week photography-wise for me, too....light not right, timing off, just not happy with much....sorry about the next cold front, but maybe you will land those photos of snowflakes you have been after! And, congrats on TT again...not a bad week at all!
Instant fav here too! You have come so far with your photography Taffy, I think many of us are finding the cold, long, grey January, wherever they are, a struggle to come up with fresh ideas.
Fav - love the colors and the almost eerie feel to this. Fabulous composition.
I have had a blah photography week too - I think it's all the dreary weather.
Beautiful colours!! Lovely shot Taffy!! Even feeling blah your shots are wonderful!! Keep warm and safe - your mojo will soon return!! You can't keep a good woman down!!
Incredible capture of the light in the sky! The color is amazing and love the silhouetted trees and the pink reflection on the snow. Just perfect! A super FAV..and it looks as though the vortex is there! Oh...I hope this passes soon. It has been a long winter for all you!
Love the fog / mist / blowing snow or whatever that blurs out the background trees and gives such a feeling of depth. We are looking ahead at day two in a row of "virtual school."
Even with the warm color of the sky. this still looks frigid! But that might have a lot to do with the freezing temperatures of the past two days and another one coming tomorrow. Beautiful capture Taffy! Keep warm!
