Yesterday's posting in my overflow album showed a reporter from CBS who was reporting on the polar vortex's arrival for the evening news. This is what viewers would have seen behind him as he presented. Long exposure taken as the sun had set and turned the sky mauve. It was cloudy, but the long exposure flattened the sky as it did the wavy water.
Thank you for your views, comments, & favs which took my Lone Walker shot to PP tonight. I appreciate it!!

Gorgeous cityscape of Chicago! Beautiful color in the sky and lighting along the shoreline. I know it's terribly cold there now but this shot makes the city look inviting.
Gorgeous skyline! You're so good at these. Is that diamond shaped building the one used in the movie "Adventures in Babysitting"? we just watched that old movie and I instantly thought of the movie.
Oh how I love these city pics; all those lights and tones in perfect harmony. I hope you have some of these framed hanging on your wall, I bet shis would look spectacular on the wall too!
@susale I haven't framed any of my city shots (or any shots really) yet. We moved in 13 years ago and there are still four paintings we have yet to hang up that are leaning against shelves or sitting on the floor!
@kwind I suspect it probably is the same building as it has that unique shape and lighting. It's fun to watch movies set in Chicago and figure out where they were filming. I especially like catching things that make no sense -- like going south on Lake Shore Drive to get to O'Hare airport (which is north) or telling someone they'll meet at the corner of Madison and Monroe - which are parallel streets.
Taffy, I read that you left your tripod behind. I have at least two spares and would be happy to provide some assistance as you navigate the next few months. Happy, too, to help in any other manner I might. As I said, I'm only an hour away and get into the city on a semi-regular basis (twice this weekend, for instance).
I can be reached via my 'tog email at voiceprintz@gmail.com. If you are a texter or prefer phone contact, I'd be happy to provide that as well.
This, btw, was the first of your photos I saw as I joined 365 last January. It was good to find someone, so quickly, that was from my neck of the woods! :)
