For f-words for February, we have 'fish.' Taken at the fish market today when I picked up salmon to make Jim poached salmon tonight. A most successful meal for a change!
Thank you all SOOO much for all your comments and fav's on my Icicles in the Sunset which made it to PP today. I was excited to see it there!

that's the only food I love to eat(seafood,no read meat,please)-Baked,broiled or steam w/lots of veggies....hmmmmp-hmmmmp-the best !!:)---cool shot, btw!
@mikegifford So funny -- we had one of those years ago (had gotten it as a gift for a joke as neither of us fish) -- I'd forgotten about it til you mentioned it. I think it was called a singing bass. Maybe that's what made me think of singing fish!
INSTANT FAV! Never have I seen such a shot and I love it just because it's such a departure from all the rest!!!! Very humorous and your title is hilarious!
@genesis_one Thanks Corrie!! Here's how to taste the poached salmon:
layer into a flat rimmed sauce pan (that has, ideally, a clear cover/top):
1. sliced lemons
2. fresh dill
3. salmon on top of lemon and dill
4. capers on top of salmon
Pour white wine to half-way up the fish (can use a mix of wine and water, but needs at least half wine)
Salt and pepper to taste
Poach for about 15 minutes (depends on thickness of filet) until cooked.
Serve over steamed spinach, or asperagus. Wild rice is good as a side dish. Enjoy!!
Cool shot...though the fish look so sad :-( I don't eat fish as I'm a veggie, but your recipe sounds great, I might try it out for my daughter...thanks for sharing
Taffy, I have looked over your work and all is beautiful. Also, I can't think of a thing you have not excelled in. For your challenge, pick an object, perhaps the one for the day that you do it in February, and make one of your terrific macro photos of it. You can edit it in anyway. How does that sound? If you can't find the list for Feb just pick an object to photo. Kathy
@virtualbrownie It was a little less weird looking before I turned in 90 degrees. They were just lying flat at the fish market, but I thought they looked more fun upright.
@pamknowler Thanks Pam! I don't know when it hit me that they looked far more interesting 'standing up' so to speak! And when I rotated them, they just seemed to be singing. @joysfocus Thanks Joy. I find titles hard to do, so appreciate your comment! @steampowered So these are red mullets? I had no idea...I was walking up and down the two main aisles looking for some fish that appealed. The ones I wanted to get were these very ugly catfishy looking things but the way the light was angled, they had too much shimmer so I couldn't use them.
Such a FUN shot! But was it taken sideways and then turned? Why were they displayed at this angle? Great for a photo, but seems it would be hard top sell at this angle.
@jyokota That's exactly what i did -- rotated it 90 degrees so that it would look more interesting than a bunch of fish lying flat and waiting to be sold.
