Tonight's sunset was a surprise. A day of clouds and rain, then the sky cleared, the lake calmed, the sun was a huge orb reflecting off the lake, and I had to take yet another sunset shot. I guess for me, sunsets are to Beaver Island as architecture is to Chicago.
And then in extras, another shot from the insect world... http://365project.org/taffy/the-also-ran-ph/2014-07-27
What a beautiful shot. Such a great place to be able to take awesome sunset photos and so envious. They just do not look the same with houses in the way or power lines.
Another wonderful abstract looking sunset - the tones are superb and I love the unsharp effect. Are you creating that in camera or post processing. Either way it's gorgeous. FAV
Keep taking the sunsets, no two are ever the same. I love the reflection in the water, but for me it only works because of he contract provided by the sharper image in the sky.
@jocasta Thanks Jocasta! This one was done in camera. I was using my 105 macro as a telephoto. I used spot metering and manual focus, and I just did the focus til I had the sun clearly in focus as an orb and the bokeh the way I wanted it from the reflection.
