My get pushed this week was to photograph a stranger or experiment with negative space. It turns out the former was pretty much impossible. I have not found a stranger all week, unless we count this little fellow who I have never met before. We met out in Big Field and had a nice chat about lenses, closeups, and lighting. I explained about get-pushed and the need for a photo of a stranger. He advised me to take the shot of mostly his head and torso as the lighting would be on his good side, and he thought he looked particularly good against the browning leaves (it's very dry at the moment). I agreed, snapped the shot, and here it is for get pushed 107!
@hermann I was amazed he stayed in one place long enough to be photographed. There were hundreds of grasshoppers but none were in one place more than a millisecond!
A truly wonderful shot of a 'stranger' and you even got him to smile a bit for the camera. I must say though, that it must be nice to be somewhere where you don't see a stranger for a whole week! Fabulous light and focus .
He gave you excellent advise. Let me say "nice bug." Your grasshopper is cool compared to the scary one I captured. And before this I would have thought there was only one kind of grasshopper. I am getting the most wonderful education.
@kathiecb Heehee!!! He never gave me his name...it was a 'brief encounter' but so pleasant. My husband thinks it's an improvement over my talking to Danbo as at least the grasshopper is a living creature!
So, now I am reading the entire voyage - very enlightening. This guy is so clearly captured - he looks like a professor, for heaven's sake. Lovely clear shot. You got his best side. :)
Thanks for the lovely comment about my splashes.

Fabulous Taffy I would say that was either/or of your get pushed challenge. Great focus,
