There's a low fence around the fountain. I'd always considered it an annoyance, but decided to see if I could put it to use. View looking north through the fountain to "Streeterville" area and North Michigan Avenue in the distance.
Last day of the month so am going through files to delete photos before exporting library of the month and starting anew. Always so time consuming!

I love the view beyond Taffy and not sure this adds to that. The fountain is so beautiful with the gorgeous backdrop and I find the fence too distracting.

Clever framing and an interesting capture with so many shapes and the movement of the fountain. The use of the fence adds a whole new dimension to the scene
Most people would man over or set the focus away from the fence and concentrate on the fountain or the skyline. However I think your use of the fence here to make it part of the image is wonderfully done it actually adds a great deal to the shot.
Ditto what so many of the comments have said about this being an excellent image. It appears you meticulously positioned the arches of the fencing to frame particular buildings. Really like the rich colors of the fountain.
There is something appealing in this capture with the arches of the fence links repeated in the curved flow of the water in the fountain ! And the beauty of it is you strive to see the beauty beyond the fence !
Love your imagination in making a feature of an annoying visual interruption. In a funny kind of way the foreground fence makes the eye concentrate on the several layers of background.
@shepherdmanswife Thanks Chantal. Yes, I had the camera almost on the ground, shooting up toward the buildings through the fountain. I wa trying to position the shot so that each arch contained its own little skyscraper scene.
I love the fence but moreso what is beyond the fence. To have both so clear is amazing to me. You are an amazing photographer and I hope this takes you places in your life. I can only wish I could take photos like you do or have the patience you must have to edit and make them look the way you want them too. FAV
