A memory shot from my weekend with Colorado family. My brother (youngest) took me flying in his little acrobatic plane (promising me we'd remain level). He was in front, and I had the seat behind him. The plan was to fly to PIke's Peak and take photos of the changing colors, but it was a total bust as everything was still green. After we came back, we took his hunting dogs (of the Sherlock & Leo photo posted for yesterday) for a run in the grasses surrounding the little airport. I liked how relaxed he and Leo look. Sherlock was busy running like a wild dog back and forth and in this shot was out of camera range, making the scene feel more relaxed than when Sherlock was in it. A very special morning and rare to have time together since we live so far apart.
They definitely look to be a partnership - nice. Shame you didn't get the aerial pics you wanted: double shame that you didn't asl your brother to do some acrobatics to make up for it ;-)
@vignouse He's been flying over 30 years and the first time I went up with him was last spring because of 365. I put my fears aside to be able to take ariel photos and it was so cool the way he could tip the wing to give me a more clear shot. This time I made the mistake of asking him to go to a different angle so I could shoot Garden of the Gods from the sky. Talk about a very steep turn! That was even more than I wanted to handle!! But it is a lot of fun and he is very careful.
This is such a peaceful scene. Something about the quiet peacefulness of the man and his dog walking the domain that dries me to it. I can't seem to leave the page and yet I need to finish catching up
@janiskay Thanks Janice. I really was so happy with how it came out and so was my brother. I know that in terms of composition, his head is in the wrong spot for the horizon, but overall, as a memory shot, it works for me as well. I appreciate your comment.
