I'm quite taken with the possibilities for bokeh from the natural night sky of the city. I'm satisfied with this one so will now stop posting these, at least not so frequently.
I'm leaving for a conference tomorrow til Saturday so probably will be even more sporadic than usual these days. It will be nice to be away from fire / house rebuilding details for a few days and even better, @jyokota will be there (Florida) too so we are planning to squeeze in one if not two photo walks.
Thank you for enjoying my photo of the intimate moment at the socks' singles party. Glad it made some of you smile.
Fire Update:
The Good --
1. My tripods have come home!!!! My travel one is out and ready to be packed for tomorrow's trip. Hoping that will help the photo mojo to return.
2. The roof will not cost as much as we had thought it would which is a huge relief. New thing learned -- if you think something is going to cost a ton, and learn it costs half-a-ton, you can tell yourself you're really lucky it wasn't worse.
3. Teapots have also been returned (I'd asked for one but described 3 in case they couldn't find it -- so they sent back all three). Civilization can't be far away.
Not so good things:
1. Printer was returned, but without power cord
2. Cable for speakers was returned, attached to one speaker, but other speaker is nowhere to be found
Oh, this has incredible possibilities!!! I cannot wait to see all that you come up with the city lights from your balcony! A crystal ball seems to be in order.....I am planning on taking mine out for some tree lighting occasions. Have a good trip to Florida....it will be nice to be warm for a few days.
I concur with, AnaZad! The bokeh is fantastic and really compliments the shot perfectly. Fav! As always thinking good thoughts for you and yours, Taffy!
I just love these Bokeh shots. This is gorgeous. It sounds like it is slowly coming together for you. I hope you have an amazing trip too. And congrats on you TT shot from the balcony (told you it would be TT 😄)
A beautiful image Taffy! Loving the bokeh - endless possibilities! Safe journey to Florida and enjoy your time away from your present problems! Looking forward to seeing shots from your photo walks! Fav!
So glad so many things are going well. Too bad there are a few things that are not so good but at least the bad things are not too many. I love your photo. I am so amazed at the bokeh that you were able to capture in background and in this wine glass. FAV Have a great time getting away. It will be so nice to be removed from what you are going through at home. Looking forward to your photos on your photo walk. FAV
This really is a crazy roller-coaster ride you're going on Taffy. I had no idea that things would be dealt with like yours have. Love your bokeh and how it's reflected in the glass.
Fantastic bokeh, I do hope that is a nice glass of relaxing wine, with all your awful news recently and saga's sounds like you could do with one. Great reflection in the glass as well works well with the background.
Ditto on the "super"! Having one's possessions filter backin actually has a sort of Christmas feel to it: the present of the day. That might be quite the stretch to find the silver lining. Enjoy Florida.
Beautiful, the city lights to lend themselves well to some wonderful bokeh! Have a safe trip to FL, we're keeping it warm for y'all so you can hopefully leave your jackets at home.
Fabulous bokeh shot. so good to hear that the roof isn't going to be as expensive as thought. It reminds me of the time years ago when I buckled the door on my husband's car and it was going to be pretty expensive to replace the door. We then discovered that they could straighten it, put filler in etc and it was to cost only half of what we first thought. I said to David. "Look how much money I have saved you" You have to have a positive slant on these sort of things and you have certainly shown that over the last few weeks.
Love this capture wonderful bokeh! Nice reflection in the glass. Sounds like things are getting better Fire wise that is and that is great news. Now I'm curious what part of Florida are you visiting!
@ericdibosco Heehee. No way! It was on a rotating spice rack against the dining room window and I was in the floor to get the right array of lights. Balcony? Not yet there for me.
Cheers! Definitely. I was wondering if you'd venturing out on the balcony for this picture but I see from one of your comments you didn't have to do that to achieve this magical photo. Fav'd for all the delicious bokeh and the refractions in the glass as well.
Sorry to hear about your fire incident. Enjoy your time in FL.
Hope you get your photo mojo back in Floriday, enjoy the warm weather.
