Last night's sunset was quite beautiful and rather unexpected given the weather. With my 50mm lens on the camera and no time to change lenses, it presented an intriguing challenge to get all the lines of the building without distortion. Thanks, Bruce, for helping me sort out the sliders to use in LR5!

and join in the fun today if you can.
Teaching tonight and then leaving for family weekend so may not be able to do much til I return. Wishing you all a great weekend a little early!
It only takes the upper fifth of your photo to recognize the photographer! You know I always carry a bit of Chicago in my heart (even going back to childhood) so I have a special affinity for your city scapes! So beautiful!
Delightful capture, Taffy! I got to see the sunset but, with my back issues in the last week, I've not been as mindful of having my camera with me, and, so, didn't get to capture the burn. Besides, downtown Aurora is not nearly as beautiful as downtown Chicago! This is wonderful.
Fabulous light Taffy and beautiful city scape!! So much to look and!! The clarity of the shot is superb. Well done on your LR editing to get rid of distortion!! Huge Fav!! Have a great family weekend!! Are you going somewhere a bit warmer?
Wonderful shot Taffy, your city-scape shots never cease to amaze me. This shot is simply wonderful. And to think you took it with a 50mm astounds me. I guess I'm showing my ignorance on the latter. The lesson (for me) is to try to use my 50mm more! Fav.
Truly and beautiful city shot Taffy! Gorgeous light and reflections too! AMazing that you can get so much in that shot with a 50mm...wonderful processing!
@bill_fe Thanks, Bill. One slide in lens correction (if it's on manual) is aspect and I think the other is vertical of the ones I used. There are about 6 sliders in all in LR on the manual setting.
@redy4et Oops -- had my camera still set on Death Valley settings! Just changed it to Colorado time for the weekend and now need to remember to change it back tomorrow. I always forget to (a) set when I'm in a new time zone or if I do remember, (b) set it back to CST. Thanks for asking!! Sun sets around 5:00 btw at this time of year for us.
Stunning View....
I'm envious of this view!
