First I want to thank you so much for all your visits and comments and favs for my fisheye Toy City. I was really overwhelmed -- I think you're conspiring to make it rewarding to go out on the balcony so I get over my fear before we move back home! You really made my day.
The 365 Toy Group theme was 'old stuff' or vintage this week, and P3 posted his viewing this watch in his spot on that album - http://365project.org/365toygroup/365/2015-03-05 - . I made this diptych for my mom, as it was her mom's watch (the watch is now well over 100 years old). I'm in charge of its safe keeping for the next generation, my niece.
I'm off to Poland for a week tomorrow mixing work and photography, posting when/if I can but most likely taking most of the week off. Wishing all a good week ahead!
A beautiful watch and lovely triptych Taffy! Your mom will love this I am sure! It's wonderful to have great items to pass on to the next generation and I hope your niece will appreciate the gift when it passes to her. Safe journey tomorrow and enjoy your week away!
You did a great job with this one, Taffy. I bet your Mom loves it. So nice to have family treasures, Have a great time in Poland. You are sure the world traveler. I cannot wait to see your photos but like you, would wait till later to post and have fun, mixed with work.
Sometimes we don't get over our fears we just learn that we can function still while feeling the fear. I drove the car out of Yosemite and have a huge fear of heights. Still do but don't always let it interfere and spoil an opportunity.
love the diptych here, love the shot and love the framing. Oh and love the concept that we will soon be seeing pictures of Poland. Love fest all around!
Beautiful! I have my great grandfather's watch in my safety deposit box. Unfortunately I've lost the key and I'm too cheap to pay the price to get the bank to open it. One day, when we REALLY need to get in I'll do it.
Beautiful treasure- so glad it survived your fire. I am starting to designate who gets what of the family treasures I have. I know your mom's going to enjoy the pictures- they feature the watch beautifully!
@lyndemc Thanks Denise -- exactly, it hangs from the pin. And we just got back from a photo walk tonight designed to keep me awake until 'normal' bedtime! About to post and get to sleep!
I thought you might be in Poland. We have very dear friends that live there. We were hoping to visit them this summer...but looks like it might be another year before we can. They rave about how beautiful it is...and I am sure they are right.
Wow Poland..............can't wait to see your photos!
