Wroclaw's cathedral is quite spectacular. Junko and I had caught a Tram home from our afternoon walk and alit at the Cathedral tram stop to walk back to her apartment. The timing of the blue hour was quite lucky. We were passing the back of the cathedral as the lights were coming on. By the time we reached the front, the sky had turned blue. See Junko's photo about 30 minutes later as we crossed the canal on our walk 'home' - http://365project.org/jyokota/365/2015-03-10 .
What a cool structure......there is so much symmetry, and of course, emphasis on the central entry wing with that lighting, but I like the variations of the domes and the other features. Perfect time of the day to photograph this building....is that the same one with the bubbles?
Oh this is magnificent! I have gotten behind and will be gone for about 10 days and may not have connection. Will try to check in if possible. I have missed some of your shots and will try to see them tonight. Our plan to go to Poland was to visit Krakow for sure. Will you or did you get to visit there? I hear it is just amazing and was left untouched by Hitler during the war...he apparently wanted it for himself. FAV on this one.
i love the pseudo symmetry in this building - there is just enough difference in the two halves to keep the eye captive and, of course, the lighting adds the finishing touch Glad you're having a great time.
One thing I love about this project is the amazing photos from all over the world that a lot of us would never experience otherwise. Thank you for sharing and posting - simply gorgeous
Fantastic! Your perfect timing for this shot highlights the architectural features of this magnificent Gothic cathedral! I also looked at Junko's photo of the front-- quite an interesting combination of styles.
@redy4et thanks!! It was lucky timing. Its a different one than the bubbles - that one is a church on the main square. The cathedral is abot a 15 minute walk to an island area.
Captured at a perfect time of day, with the sky being sympathetic to the blue in the building and the centrally light part of the building giving a clear focal point..
I'm trying to catch up after a week without internet and a slow connection here so will only comment on a few
